Illinois is a secondary hiring area, and the freight is already there: 7.3% of our pickups and deliveries this year touched Illinois, across 164 refrigerated lanes that start or end in Farina, Olney, University Park, and Chicago. Pickups and deliveries here run about even, so trips both start and end near home. Those loads connect to 21 other states on our board. The busiest of those lanes runs from Farina, IL to Tulsa, OK.
Southern Illinois is where our Illinois freight lives. Farina shows up on our board more than any other town in the state, with Olney second, and both sit in the I-57 and I-70 country our trucks already run between Missouri and the East. The Chicago suburbs are real too: University Park and Montgomery take regular deliveries, and Sterling out west on I-88 does the same. Illinois drivers get a mix of short regional runs and longer hauls, with the Missouri line never far away.
